Kata <strong>Magnet<\/strong> berasal dari bahasa Yunani <em><strong>magnitis lithos<\/strong><\/em> yang berarti batu magnesia. Batu magnesia ini memiliki keunikan tersendiri dimana dapat saling tarik-menarik dengan batu magnesia lain. Berikut ini penjelasan singkat dari masing-masing cara;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Menggosok <\/strong>&#8211; menggosokkan magnet ke bahan yang ingin dijadikan magnet. Arah gosokan harus tetap dan kutub di ujung bahan yang digosok akan <strong>sejenis<\/strong> dengan kutub magnet yang menggosoknya.<\/li><li><strong>Induksi<\/strong> &#8211; bahan dalam kategori feromagnetik seperti besi dan baja dapat dijadikan magnet dengan mendekatkannya ke magnet selama beberapa waktu. Kutub bahan yang berdekatan dengan magnet akan <strong>berlawanan<\/strong> dengan magnet.<\/li><li><strong>Elektromagnet<\/strong> &#8211; dengan melilitkan besi atau baja dengan kawat penghantar yang dialiri listrik searah.
